Beginning 2011
On a side note, the stables where Josie was doing her theraputic riding has been a victim of the government and has lost their funding for the program. It's turned into a hit and miss kind of thing. We're hoping that once spring/summer is here they will have another session.
Another side note: Josie still likes horses but has also started liking lions. Yes, lions. When asked if she would rather ride a horse or a lion she stated "rawr" meaning lion. Now I'm really really really not sure that even if I found someone who actually gave lion riding lessons, I don't think I'd let her take them.
Call me a bad mommy if you want, but I think we'll stick to riding horses. LOL

A Story of an Idiot
The background: we have cats now. 3 of them in fact. They just love to sit on my closed laptop lid because it's warm.
Once upon a midnight somewhat recently, there sat a laptop on a desk and nearby was a partially full glass of water. Deep in the night the glass of water toppled over onto the desk. The water magically disappeared completely under the laptop.
The next morning, unbeknown to said laptop owner, the computer was turned on and use began. Now, those that have computers know that once they are in use, fans start to move air around and under to keep it cool. Well, once the fans began to work, the water underneath the laptop made it's way up inside.
Suddenly there was a horrible wrenching squealing noise! The laptop owner was quite alarmed but had no idea what was going on. A short time later there appeared the dreaded "blue screen of death." (Ominous music can now be heard.)
Although another nonworking laptop was able to be used in the creation of a working laptop, alas any and all photos, videos and information on the sorely abused computer is now lost forever. Said laptop owner was very remiss in the backing up of such vital and important memories.
So, as the moral of the story goes: leaving glasses of water next to laptops that haven't been properly backed up means there is one idiot of an owner involved.
*sigh*

Yeah, OK
A couple of weeks ago, Linda and the girls came down to visit. Little Alexander is just cute as a button! But in getting video clips of him, Linda was in the middle of telling her birthday story and I just had to let her share with the world.
Is this so not John just with no teeth? Amazingly cute.
I also caught Dani and Alexander playing patty cake. I missed getting a shot of the really cute episode, but I did get this little gem. I'm sorry if it's a little dark, but hopefully you can see enough to get the idea.
I do have new video and pictures of Josie's horse riding, but I want to put the clips together before posting. Hopefully I'll get to them soon.
See Y'all.

Josie's Horse Riding
This first video I made with my little Nikon COOLPIX 8m camera. The quality isn't the best, but it's what I've got. The first part of the video shows Josie riding by herself for the first time ever. She's been taking riding lessons for almost a year at Risner's Stables in West Plains. Her class is for therapeutic riding and usually all the students have some sort of disability. The instructor works with the kids to improve verbal and physical skills.
In the second half of the video, Josie is back to riding with someone behind her. She wasn't real happy about that to begin with, but her "helper" let her do most of the work. The first horse is Zebe. He's much younger and quicker to respond to her usual horse, Tapper, which she's back to in the second half. The girl riding with Josie is Hayden who I hope forgives me if I don't spell her name correctly.
Since I put music with the video, you can't really hear everything going on with Josie when she's riding, for that I'm sorry. Hopefully I'll get all this figured out soon and you'll be able to hear her giggles and "woo-hoos." She LOVES to "trot" or lope" on the horse.
One thing I really like about her riding lessons is how the day ends. The picture below is a good example. It's only a little after 8pm, Josie's had her bath, unfortunately she is on my bed, but good 'ol Squid watches over her.
